Bay Cockburn(on right) during a workout in 1998 of steeplechase hourses at Dr, Joe Rodgers Farm in Hamilton, Virginia. The Oak Tree in the background was the 2nd largest and oldest in Virginia until a storm knocked it down in the spring of 2004. Cockburn, who is very well known, had a terrible fall "after a moment's inattention" and now uses a power chair.Ê "If I'd had my fingers through the neck strap, I wouldn't have broken my neck", says Cockburn.Ê He's easing back into training horses, and occasionally jumps his chair over small obstacles to amuse the kids.
