These baboons inhabit rocky places such as ravines, crags, or hilly promontories where grass and trees are scanty. Their favorite abodes are usually in such places as are surrounded by wide plains which enable them to lie in wait for an opportune moment to commit some pillaging excursion on a garden or field and at the same time to have all opportunity to escape on the approach oi danger. They are much given to malicious mischief of this.
