Thisis the principal port of entry on the AsiaMinor coast. Many ships enter herefrom all the ports of the Adriatic, Medi-terranean, iEgean, and the Black now it is proposed to start a lineof steamers direct from Smyrna to NewYork, via. Athens, the Corinthian Isth-mus Canal, Naples, and Gibraltar. Thiswill be a great convenience to both thepassenger, and the freight traffic. Smyrna very easily takes the lead in149.
