The frigate United States capturing frigate Macedonian: fought, Octr. 25th. 1812. The United States was commanded by Stephen Decatur when it overtook Captain John S. Garden's Macedonian on October 28, 1812 near the Azores in the Atlantic. Decatur captured the Macedonian and brought it to New York on December 4, 1812.
