CummingSmith developed these points: Missionarywork is the leaven which is raising thepeople of non-Christian lands to a higherplane of intelligence and self-respect. Inthe promotion of these qualities amongnations whose cheap labor imperils ourindustries, lies the solution of the tariff andimmigration questions.
