The mounted squadron of the Guards Hussar Regiment will play an important role in the proclamation of Frederick of Denmark. This regiment - called Gardehusarregimentet, in Danish - is a cavalry unit of the Royal Danish Army. It is dedicated to training the Guard Hussars in order to perform different functions in the mobilization force. And it is one of two active cavalry regiments in the Danish army. It emerged in 2001 with the union of the original Guard Hussars regiment with the Danish Life Regiment and the Zeeland Life Regiment.
