Inplan, oval in four segmental swelling sections; on shoulder,two bold lion-heads and rings in low relief. Blue clay burntto a hard brown ware. Covered with a brilliant and extra-thick glaze of varying shades of bright blue-gray. Glazeflows vertically and ends, at base and inside vase, in thickclots and shows the delicate streaks of the blue shades. Ileipht, 12 Third Afternoon 4(>8—Brown Graffiato Tzu Chou Decorated Jar {Sung) Inverted cone shape, spherical body tapering to broad base,with short neck to wide mouth. Hard heavy red is made by cutting out the slip enamel or thickglaze to form a broad floral band round body, with boldflowing lines of conventional leaves and flowers, lines arcleft above and below band, and at neck-shoulder, leaf-pat-tern is indicated with thin outline cut out of the slip. Colorof enamel glaze is a soft chocolate-brown with olive influ-ence showing more clearly in the glaz
