Capsules large, obovate-cylindrical. {Pursh.) A low ever- green shrub, with the habit of a herbaceous plant. Banks of the Missouri River. Height of the leaves 6 in. to 12 in.; of the stem 3 ft. to 5 ft. Introd. 1811. Flowers greenish white, without any tinge of purpl^; September. This species has been sometimes confounded with Y. stricta ; but the leaves are narrower and more recurved, and the threads on the margin much longer.
