He was baptized May1, 1904, by Zebulon W. Jacobs. Withhis parents he went to Alberta, Can-ada, in the summer of 1899, the familyresiding at Magrath until 1907, whenthey moved to Taber. There youngArchibald was ordained to offices inthe Aaronic Priesthood and was or-dained an Elder Nov. 30, 1914, byBryant R. McMullin. He graduatedfrom the Taber High School in 1914,and from the Calgary Normal Schoolin 1915. He then taught school untilhis enlistment in the Canadian Mount-ed Rifles, March 26, 1916. With themhe went overseas, transferring in Eng-land to the Fort Garry Horse, withwhich unit he was in active service inFrance from December, 1916, to April,1919. He received his discharge inWinnipeg, Canada, June 2, 1919. Forone year he taught in the Taber HighSchool and for two years in the KnightAcademy in Raymond, Alberta. Heserved for a time as stake superin- tendent of the M. I. A. in the TaylorStake. On Dec. 21, 1921, he married AnnElla Milner,
