Y, Three children have been born tothem: Ralph Edwin, born August 20, 1861, resides in Davenport, Iowa;Millie, born March 14, 1863, married Fred Wyman of Davenport, Iowa, diedDecember 27, 1905; George Francis, born February 27, 1871, resides atDavenport, CALEB OLIVER, B. S. Caleb Oliver, son of George and Deborah (White) Oliver, was born inAthol, Mass., January 3, 1825. He attended the schools of the; town and wheneighteen years of age began to work in the cotton mills in Nashua, N. H , wherein a few months he had the misfortune to lose his right fore-arm by having itcaught in the machinery. He then moved to Peterboro, N. H., and attendedthe Academy in that place, and later., one in Hancock. In 1845, he enteredthe University and graduated B. S. in 1847. He then entered the professionof teaching and was principal of a high school in Kentucky one year; NashuaN. H., high school one year; was connected with the St. Louis, Mo., schoolsfrom 1850 to 1864, when he entered the mercantile business in New Yorkcity, which he followed with much success. Later, he became a travelingsalesman, and in 1883 retired to Nashua, N. H., where ho resided with twoof his sisters
