Ithas been recorded from Florida, but I have never seen an example fromthat State, although it is given as quite common by several authors. It ex-tends to Southern South America in its range; does not breed on the eastcoast. Genus SPATULA (Male.; SPATULA CLYPEATA {Linn.).Shoveller.
