Gun practice in 1860 on HMS Brilliant (1814), a 36-gun fifth rate launched in 1814 and built at Deptford. She was re-rated to 42 guns in 1830, serving with the Channel Fleet, until 1859 when she was passed to the Royal Naval Reserve, initially in London.
