Beijing, China - 17 October 2006 Tienanmen means 'Gate of Heavenly Peace' (Tien' - heaven, 'An' - Peace, 'Men' - Gate). First built around 1420 in the Ming Dynasty, it is the grand entrance to the Forbidden City, the seat of Imperial Power in China for over five centuries. Today, it is perpetually guarded by soldiers of the People's Liberation Army. I have never actually seen one move, so maybe they are inflatable replicas?
