The showwindows pf this establishment constitute one of theprettiest sights of Broadway, and are filled with therichest and rarest goods of every description, amount-ing in value to thousands of dollars. In the squareabove, on the east side, is the Park Theatre, one ofthe prettiest, as regards the interior, in the city. At 23d street Broadway crosses the Fifth avenue,going obliquely to the northwest. From the south-west corner of Broadway and 23d street we obtainone of the finest views in the city. 23d street, one ofthe widest in the metropolis, stretches away east and. On the right isMadison Square, the handsomest of all the smallerparks, beautifully shaded with noble trees, and adornedwith shrubbery, fountains and statuary. On the eastside of the Square is Madison avenue, one of thestateliest and most fashionable streets of the Fifth avenue leads away to the northward, a splen-did mass of brownstone buildings, broken at intervalsby numerous church spires. To the northwest isBroadway, lined with superb marble edifices as far asthe eye can reach. The throng of vehicles and pedes-trians is very great here, coming and going in alldirections, and all the streets which centre here pre-sent a gay and animated appearance, and the wholescene constitutes a panorama unequaled by anythingin any of the great capitals of the Old World.
