German War Postcard found in a raided trench by a British soldier fighting in the 2nd Battle of Ypres and kept as a souvenir. This is only half of the original card (artist/photographer unknown). The half piece right of the tree has not survived. The officer and soldier are passing a factory/coal-mine in a flat, rural landscape, on their way to the front at Ypres.
