White Blossom sweet clover is becoming pop- ular wherever sown. Wood, Stubbs & Co., of Louisville, are handling heavy stocks of grasses, especially orchard and blue grass. Prices are firm, with little prospect of their being lower on account of the absence of foreign stocks. Advices from New Zealand state that the grass seed crop there is almost a failure. "While grasses are our strong suit, we are heavily interested in stocks of beans and watermelons," observed Frank Stubbs. "We are moving 3,000 pounds of the Kleckley's Sweet, the favorite of all, and expect to turn over a carload of melon seed through the senson. In beans Kentucky Wonder is a leader, although we recently shipped 100 bushels of Refugee Wax, at $6 per bushel, and the same quantity of Bur- pee's Stringless Greenpod, at $9 per bushel. This will give you some idea of the range of prices. Wardwell 's Pencilpod and Hodson's Wax are fair- ly plentiful with us. We anticipate a shortage later, especially as the latest advices from California indicate a 60- per cent crop. We are fairly strong
