In 1863 he was promotedto the rank of surgeon, and assigned for duty to the7Sth Illinois Volunteer Infanty, and was surgeon of thatregiment at the time it was mustered out, in 1864. Hewas in ..eld duty most of the time, excepting six months,when he was in charge of the small-pox hospital. Onreturning home he settled in State Line City, where heremained until the spring of 1S70, when he moved toLebanon. He is a member of the County, State, andNational or American Medical Society. He was married,April II, 1847, to Julietta More, of Georgetown, Illinois,.
