Midkiff, commanding officer, amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) speaks with the ship's chief petty officers during a celebration for the 124th birthday of the Navy chief petty officer on the mess decks. Iwo Jima recently returned from conducting a series of qualifications and certifications as part of the basic phase of training in preparation for future operations and deployments.
