The Black Boy Inn in Caernarfon built in 1522 is one of the oldest inns in North Wales.

The Name Black Boy refers to a boy brought in on a ship, a black buoy navigational device, or the nickname given to Charles II by his mother and the fact that Royalists met secretly here from time to time.
