The original, which is of porphyritic greenstone, was dis-covered by the Rev. W. Greenwell, , in a barrow at Cowlam,fnear Weaverthorpe, Yorkshire. It lay in front of the face of a contractedskeleton, the edge towards the face, and the remains of the wooden.
