OAK HARBOR, Wash. (June 22, 2018) — Aviation Structural Mechanic (Equipment) 1st Class Jason Ruiz, attached to Patrol Squadron (VP) 47, bows his head during the benediction of the VP-47 change of command ceremony on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI). VP-47 is a maritime patrol squadron currently stationed at NASWI. The Golden Swordsmen fly the P-8A Poseidon, the Navy's premiere long-range anti-submarine warfare platform.
