The portrait shows only his head and shoulders. He isdressed in sober fashion, as befits his professional standing, ina black coat and white stock. Behind a pair of gold-rimmedspectacles a pair of shrewd but kindly eyes look directly atthe spectator, the head being turned slightly to the right.
