London, UK. 29 June 2015. (L to R) The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, London Transport Commissioner Sir Peter Hendy and Zac Goldsmith MP in front of a mock up of an electric bus. The Mayor of London Boris Johnson announced that London is set to trial the world’s first purpose-built double-decker purely electric bus, during the first ever global Clean Bus Summit at City Hall. Organised with C40, a partnership of global cities acting on climate change, the summit had leaders of more than 20 other major cities and their representatives in attendance.
