Brazilian President Inspects Coast Guard-Manned Transport. President Getulio Vargas enters the troop quarters on an inspection tour through a Coast Guard-manned troop transport which carried Brazilian forces to the European War Theatre. Brazilian soldiers give him a snappy salute. Behind President Vargas is Coast Guard Captain George W. McKean, Skipper of the transport, whom the Brazilian government decorated with the Medal of Military Merit for the safe transport of the Republic's troops overseas.
