London, March 8th 2014. Scores of Sri Lankans demoonstrate outside Downing Street urging the UK not to back a UN investigation into war crimes committed during the civil war with the Tamil Tigers.

Sri Lankans demonstrated at Downing Street in London against the proposed UNHRC investigation into alleged war crimes committed by the Sri-Lankan government forces when they crushed the Tamil Tigers to end the 37 year long civil war. It is alleged that over 40,000 civilians were deliberately put in harms way. The Sri Lankans see it as a war on terror, saying "since when is fighting terrorism a war crime?".
