Of this timeeach day, except Saturdays and Sunda3-s, the class is in thesection room 32 hours, which must be classed as stud}- time;2 hours of the da}- are devoted to meals, which leaves 9^ hoursof the day. Assuming 2 hours for militar}- exercises and i^hours for other recreation, exercise, or rest, there is left 64hours for application to the studies of the second class outsidethe section room. ORGANIZATION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND DUTIES OF THE PERSONNEL. The personnel of the department consists of the professorand the requisite number of instructors, a civilian emplovee,and an enlisted attendant.
