On the basis of an annual consumption of one barrelper capita, this quantity represents about a six weeks supply in tradechannels. Of the total holdings reported, as may be seen from Table 6,flour mills, elevators, and wholesale grain dealers held 3,633,653 barrels,or per cent; retail dealers held 2,456,826 or per cent; bakers,1,999,583 or per cent; wholesale grocers, 958,628 or per cent; Diagram 0.—Distribution of Total Stocks of Flour Reported for August 31, 1917. °/°. The number of schedules received from concerns belonging to thosegroups of business firms that usually handle flour was 133,809.
