European Bison (Bison bonasus)

European Bison (Bison bonasus) - Europe's largest land mammal and now extinct in the wild. There are around 3500 bison saved from total extinction by an international zoo breeding program and around 2000 have been reintroduced into the wild in the Bialoweiza Forest in Poland and Belarussia.
