Florentine sculptor whose marble figures of St. Mark and St George demonstrated the new development of perspective with a mathematical precision. He worked with Brunelleschi in the survey and excavations of Ancient Rome and assisted Lorenzo Ghiberti with the statues for the north door of the Florence baptistery.
