To a feeling mind the very fight ofthis hazardous employment, in whatever way it ispurfued, is painful; for, indeed, it often happensthat thefe adventurous poor men, in this life-taking 400 BRITISH BIRDS, mode of obtaining their living, flip their hold, areprecipitated from one projedion to another, withincreafmg velocity, and fall mangled upon the rocks,or are for ever buried in the abyfs beneath.
