Ma Jill (r), general manager of Alberta Wheat Pool representing Western Co-operative Fertilizers Limited, presented a cheque for $18,000 for fertilizer research to Dr. Steve Pawluk (I) of the Soil Science Department of the University of Alberta. The contribution will be matched equally by the provincial government through the Alberta Agricultural Research Trust. Agricultural research costing over $3,250,000 has been financed by farm organizations and agri-business with the aid of government since the inception of the Alberta Agricultural Research Trust in April, 1966. Over the years the research has been largely mission-oriented for the advancement of Alberta's agricultural industry. This has included research in food processing, social sciences as well as the biological and physical sciences.
