The lake also called Lake Calamone Ventasso, it is located on the north west of Mount Ventasso, in the municipality of Ramiseto in the province of Reggio Emilia The lake is of glacial origin and is located at an altitude of about 1400 m. It is powered by three natural springs and is the largest natural lake in the province of Reggio Emilia. The effluent, the river Lonza, is a tributary of the Enza. It is surrounded by extensive forests of beech and conifers in excellent condition. On the banks is a core of specimens of silver fir. The lake is easily accessible from Calamone Ventasso Lakes along the forest road closed to traffic that climbs along the slopes of the mountain.
