Peonies have put in an appearance, but are not at all abundant and are small in size. White lilacs were much in evidence for Decoration day, as were tulips and iris. Carnations are show- ing the effects of approaching summer, as also are roses. The finer varieties of iris are putting in an appearance and are indeed wel- come. Harrisii lilies are not so plenti- ful and the price is going up. Outdoor valley is about gone, but indoor stock is all that can be desired and sells well. Cattleyas are of fine quality, but the demand has fallen off. Bedding plants are selling better than anything else and landscape gardeners are working overtime. Various Notes. The Eochester Floral Co. had an at- tractive Memorial day window display. Mrs. Felix Alberts will arrive in Rochester June 10, after having spent the winter in the west. Henry P. Neun has an elegant speci- men of Ihe Japanese wistaria in full bloom at his home, and it has over a thousand blossoms. Salter Bros, are showing some fine gloxinias at their east Main street store. They report a fair Memorial day trade. J. B. Keller Sons did a big business last week for Memorial day, funerals, weddings, etc. The state fair commission announced the following appointments May 27: Charles H. Vick, manager of flower show; Charles G. Porter, of Albion, manager of fruit department; Albert 6. Miller, of Elmira, vegetable and farm produce. Albert Rayton's hydrangeas have been exceptionally fine the last few weeks, although they were intended for Easter and were late. Baby gladioli, sweet peas and pansies of extra good quality are coming from Wm. Scott Co., an
