Great Pyramid of Cheops at Giza, Egypt, 4th dynasty, Old Kingdom, 26th century BC (1831). The Great Pyramid is the only surviving one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was built to serve as the tomb of the Pharaoh Khufu (Cheops). Watercolour by the English architectural draughtsman Francis Arundale (1807-1853). From the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
