The gift was accepted and alibrary established andnamed Douglas Library. Phosnix Library was then dissolved and thebooks distributed among the contributors. In 1845 another resident ofthe town, Robert Baker, died and left by will one thousand dollars to beadded to the fund, the interest or income to be used for the purchase of.
