Shoulder arthroscopy procedure. Surgeon inserting an arthroscope (a type of endoscope) into a patient's shoulder. This is a minimally-invasive type of surgery (keyhole surgery) where a fibre optic tube with a lighted tip sends back pictures that are displayed on a screen (not seen). The surgeons will be able to assess conditions inside the joint and then either take a biopsy (tissue sample) for further examination, or carry out corrective surgery.
