Interior of a vintage steam train carriage as passengers prepare for a 90-minute return journey covering 7 km along the cliff-hugging route from Clarence, a small town to Bottom Point a terminal on the valley floor in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, (NSW) Australia. The Great Lithgow Zig-Zag railway line was first constructed in 1869 to serve local people and to transport goods to Sydney. The line was part of the Main Western Line between Sydney and Perth. The 7km Zig-Zag line is operated by both steam and diesel locomotives and is now a popular tourist attraction.
