"Anta, My Waterwoman" - Nigerien woman from the village of Bele Kwara, Niger

This is a photo of Anta the woman who brought me water every day when I lived in the village of Bele Kwara Niger as a Peace Corps Volunteer The two 20-liter buckets of water that she carried on her head from the water pump to my house every morning was enough for me to cook, bathe, drink and wash laundry. This photo was taken in the Torodi market, which the people of Bele Kwara attend each Friday.
