The size of the shadow asseen in the ordinary methods of examination is misleading, the distortioncaused by the nearness of the tube to the patient making the resultingshadows appear larger than they really are, the distortion being equal onall the structures recorded on the plate. If the exact size of the organs is required, then we must use orthodia-graphy or tele-rontgenography. The former consists of an accurate drawing.
