The two were enjoying unseasonably warm temperatures and bright sun as they skated in Victoria Park. According to The Weather Network "a climatic phenomenon called the 'North Atlantic Oscillation (NA0) Index' could explain the mild weather. The NAO is the natural fluctuation of air pressure in the Northern Atlantic ocean. "The last two years has seen a negative oscillation which favoured cold temperatures" says Rob Davis, meteorologist with the Weather Network. "This year we have a positive oscillation which sees more Pacific air pushing into the Prairies, keeping the cold locked into the Artic", said Davis.
