Ferd. J. S. Gorgas, M. D., D. D. S., was the first Dean of the Department,his successor being the present Dean, Dr. T. O. Heatwole. Dr. Gorgas was Prt>-fessor of Principles of Dental Science, Dental Surgery and Dental Mechanismand, with him, were associated Jas. H. Harris, M. D., D. D. S., who was PrOfessor of Operative and Clinical Dentistry, and five others, all medical men,these comprising the Faculty. Of the progress that has been made since the founding of this Departmenttoo much cannot be written. Nearly two thousand dental practitioners havebeen graduated therefrom, among who
