Do not put manure about the bulbs when setting, as it collects moist- ure and insects, and often causes the bulbs to decay. Top dressing is the better way toenrich the soil after the bnlbsareset. Thebeds should be well covered with leaves and strawy manure to exclude the frost. Set bulbs four to six inches deep according to their size. Auratiim. (Golden Japan Lily.) This superb Lily has flowers 10 to 12 inches in diameter, composed of .six white x^etals, thickly studded Avithrichchocolaie-crimson spots and a bright golden band tiirough the center of each petal; exquisite vanilla-like perfume Extra strong bulbs 25c each, ^ dozen.
