In Malay "kuching" translates as "Cat" so Kuching is known as the Cat City. It holds an increasing number of cat statues and even a museum of cats. However, these latest additions owe more to the Transformer films than anything else. The statues are made of metal but mainly recycled parts, or apparent recycled parts, as tins or crossing lights. They are new and different.
