Building the Rugenbrucke road bridge over the Strelasund between Stralsund and Ruegen, Germany
The new bridge over the Strelasund between Stralsund and Ruegen (Germany's largest Island) will ease a congestion hot spot on the B96 highway, providing a better connection with the important Baltic Harbour of Mukran (Sassnitz). The bridge is a cable-stayed construction and has a total length of kilometres including the approaches, with the main span of length and 42m. above water level. It is due to open in the second half of 2007.
