Parabolic trough solar power plant. View over the parabolic mirror array (upper right) and oil pipes at the Andasol 3 Parabolic trough solar thermal power plant, Andaulsia, Spain. This power plant uses parabolic mirrors to focus the Sun's energy onto oil circulating at the centre of each mirror. This energy is then stored in vats of molten salt so that the plant can continue to generate electricity even once the sun has set.
