MOSCOW, RUSSIA - MARCH 12, 2018: An elderly woman in a white jacket and shopping passes by a statue of a girl carrying a basket full of fruit on her shoulder. The sculpture is called "Fertility" and adorns the facade of the metro station Prospekt Mira. The author of the sculpture is Melnikova. However, the original statue did not survive: in the 1960s, temperature and humidity changes destroyed the concrete girl so much that she had a rusted "skeleton" - iron reinforcement and dismantled it. The original sculpture of the work of Praskovia Melnikova was established in 1952. In 2016, a new statue was made in the workshop "Kitezh", the authors - Levin, and Feklini. When recreating the sculpture used archival photos. According to some sources, the sculpture was originally called not "Fertility", but "Abundance", but today's wits have already managed to rename it into "Import substitution", hinting at the sanction character of the fruit and vegetable products in the basket of the beauty.
