A citizens action group - - has erected informational billboards on Oregon Highway 30 as it runs between Portland and Linnton, Oregon. The signs warn the public of the hazard posed by tank farms containing hazardous chemicals and petroleum products that could pose serious risk to life if subjected with a natural or man created event. The group says that the aging tanks - many of which sit on infill - could be damaged or explode spilling their contents into the Willamette and downstream, the Columbia Rivers potentially causing an extreme threat to life.
