Annual Horse Round Up-Laufskalarett, Skagafjordur, Iceland

Laufskalarett is the largest horse round-up in Iceland. The farmers in the north keep up a long tradition of letting their horses roam around freely in the commons during the summer. Every autumn they ride up into the mountains gathering up the flocks of horses and bring them down to the valleys. The horses are sorted in special pens and each owner will bring their horse's home.
