Aedes triseriatus Mosquito, West Nile Vector


Ochlerotatus triseriatus mosquito obtaining a blood meal from a human hand. Also known as Aedes triseriatus, and commonly known as the treehole mosquito, this species is a known West Nile virus (WNV) vector. Similar diseases that are spread by Aedes triseriatus mosquitoes include: Western and Eastern equine encephalitis, Japanese encephalitis, Saint Louis encephalitis and La Crosse virus.
