Intestinal ectasia. Endoscope view of a reddened area in the wall of the colon (large intestine) due to vascular ectasia, the dilation and distortion of small blood vessels. This may be caused by the liver damage associated with chronic heavy alcohol abuse. If it bleeds into the intestines it has to be treated surgically.
